A BRIEF PROFILE OF THE CHARISMATIC RENEWAL MINISTRIES INC

1. INTRODUCTION: The Charismatic Renewal Ministries Inc. is God’s idea. The prophetic birthing of the Charismatic Renewal Ministries occurred on the 18th February, 1980, at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University). The Lord commissioned the CRM to start preparing men for a great harvest in the Catholic Church. The Ministry has since been committed to this in obedience to the Lord.
2. LEADERSHIP: The Ministry was led by God to adopt the Core Group system of Leadership. This is a plural or group leadership and shared responsibility. The leader of the General Core Group (the highest leadership body of the ministry) ipso facto becomes the leader of the Ministry and her Chief Executive Officer, otherwise called the General Overseer.The current General Overseer is Dr. Cosmas Ilechukwu, who is also the National Assistant General Secretary of PFN and on the board of reference of Oral Roberts University USA.
The Secretary of the General Core Group is Pastor Julius Iroha who is also the Head of Administration of the Ministry. He is in charge of the day to day administrative running of the ministry and all the staff of the Ministry report to him. He is the Executive Officer of the National Secretariat of the Ministry.
3. PRESENT SPREAD: Starting off as a solely student ministry, the Charismatic Renewal Ministries has grown to over Five Hundred and Fifty branches with presence in Thirty Four (34) States of Nigeria and Abuja. The Ministry also has branches in Ghana, Togo, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, The Gambia, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, United Kingdom and United States of America.
4. FINANCES: The Ministry is financed by the tithes and offerings, free will donations of the members and income from investments.
